How convenient. First, Musharraf lifts the emergency rule. Shortly thereafter, Bhutto is killed in a terrorist attack. The authorities blame Al Qaeda for the assassination. The official version says she hit her head when she saw the terrorist shooting. The autopsy showed that she was shot in the neck. Why was this fact hidden by the authorities?

The answer is in Al Qaeda"s strict rules of conduct. They may be extremist murderers, but they have a code which corresponds to their reading of the Qur"an. Shooting at women is strictly forbidden. What"s more, shooting with a gun before blowing themselves up has never been observed as a style of Al Qaeda. It"s true, someone who wants to make sure that his target is dead, would first try to shoot her before blowing himself up. But Al Qaeda doesn"t do that. Besides, Al Qaeda doesn"t usually deny having done something they haven"t done. If they do a terror act, they usually brag after that. Not this time.

So why is Musharraf lying? And is there a connection between the aftermath of the assassination and Hillary"s statement that now she has stopped trusting Musharraf whatsoever? I know, it seems she meant she was solidary with a fellow female politician, and is declaring that she wants democracy in Pakistan (a pre-election PR stunt). But if you seek a bit deeper into her words, you might find something else there.

The aftermath of Bhutto"s death strikingly resembles the days after 9/11. Chaos, confusion and... soon, a police state. Just wait and you"ll see. Pakistan is walking the US path. They"ll soon have their own Patriot Act, and have even more of their civil liberties cut off. End of the final traces of democracy. Under the excuse of a terrorist threat. How convenient.

You may find that everything has been carefully planned - and not by Al Qaeda, who recently declared that Bhutto is a tool of the US policies in Pakistan. It"s much more probable that Al Qaeda, in this case, is the tool of Musharraf"s aspirations for holding power. Everything is a PR stunt. If you ask yourself who wins from Bhutto"s assassination, you"ll have the answer to the question in the title of this post.

What about "democracy"? Did anyone ever really believe that democracy is present in this equation?
